The Pre-20 Dinner

By Sherry, December 23, 2009 9:22 pm

Well, its pretty much out of the bag now. Thanks for keeping it such a secret everyone. And that was sarcasm - just in case you don’t recognise it.

The internet is a sucky place to deliver sarcasm. gah.

Anyways, my birthday was… simply awesome.
(minus the fact that I had to leave the very next day)

And I guess I’m supposed to gloat, show off and post numerous pictures of my gorgeous self, my awesome dinner and more pof my gorgeous self. And in case you missed it, “supposed to” means “I should but I;m too lazy to actually do it”. Lucky you?

This is partly a thank you and partly just because I wanted to gloat. Kidding. the gloating part i mean. Ok. I lied. I looked gorgeous *self praise* so here i go: *gloats with glee* ngek ngek ngek :D

My date for the evening.

Camwhoring right outside in the chill winds. The view was spectacular, with a wide view of the city and its surrounding suburbs. That said, we didn’t stay long. Not that we didn’t want to, but we were literally shivering. Believe me.. it was cc-c-o-ooo-ooo-l-lll-dd…

Guess it didn’t help that my so called heater didn’t actually work either. wtf.

my ‘girly’ drink. Can’t recall, a cosmopolitan perhaps?

For some strange reason, there was a slight feeling of deja vu when I entered the restaurant. And i’m pretty sure I’ve never been there - i’d hv remembered for sure. Odd.

Clare Valley Veal with Grilled Potatoes and Puff Pastry. or something like that.

Oh, I think I forgot to mention the name of the place. Sorry, my bad. Pictures are taken at Windy Point Restaurant, Adelaide. Beautiful decor which compliments the unique architecture of the place lending a sense of welcoming yet intimite ambience (and no, i didn’t copy tht from somewhere). I’d personally recommend it for that special occassion :)

Food was fab. The veal was not overly cooked with the flavours of the meat still fully intact. Loved the grilled potatoes with the green sauce. Might hv some spinach blended in there somewhere, I’m not sure. But awesome. Wish they’d given more though..

The view. Not that you can see much from here. but the lights were beautiful.

I especially liked the lighting of this place. Its dim, but not too dark that you can’t see your food. I see mostly two-seaters bt there are a few bigger tables that could hold quite a few people. Things were muted and there weren’t any rowdy conversations. It really does feel.. nice. And expensive. lol.

just in case you aren’t bored of my face yet :D

Tried taking a picture with the night view behind us. But it was too dark. And its not like you can really see the lights anyways. Unfortunately. It would’ve been beautiful…

My present ♥

I loved it. love it love it love it! I guess sparkly things really does appeal to a girl’s heart.

All that aside, thanks for the facebook msges, the mms-es, the phonecalls, the sms-es, the cakes and of course, the pressiesssss! I heart heart heart you guys for putting so much thought into it! haha.. really had fun and believe me, I will NEVER look at cherry in the same way anymore… =.= (sounds like I’m giving a speech from the Oscars?)

Ps. I’m loving the chocs from my PD! ♥ I know it was difficult for you, but you still did it… thank youuuuuuu

Cupcakes in Pinkland

By Sherry, October 17, 2009 1:56 am

High sugar level alert!

Cupcakes are soooooooo sinful :(
… and not to mention super expensive too =.=

but then again, thats probably just me being cheap.
not as bad as some people, but i’ll be damned if that habit is rubbing off me! ugh.

This is why I seldom meet Dee - though I consider her to be one of my best friends.

Damage of $15 in the first 20 mins I meet up with her *sigh*

Braving the cold chill wind, we mustered whats left of our courage - and decreasing cash - and marched to our pre-planned destination.

First thought (from across the road) - “….. pink calour~
Second thought (the moment I stepped in) - “….. pink calour~!!”
Third thought (sorry for being slow)- “….. ooooh! cupcakes!”

Not really a wide variety of cupcakes, but then again, how many types are there? It all comes back down to chocolate and vanilla based in the end anyways.

But at least now I understand the charm that ensnared Dee to this place. It’s very… pink.

Overall theme in pink and black. Found it to be unusually elegant and charming despite the initial hesitation at such an obvious Barbie parlour - with a gothic twist. Perhaps it was the pink striped wallpaper. Or maybe it’s the chandeliars working its charm on me. I do have a soft spot nice lighting after all…

Or perhaps it’s the Anna Sui-ish furniture and decor. Definitely a different world from the street outside - more… pink-ish somehow…

Divine tea which unfortunately tastes awfully bitter after the first bite of the sugar/calorie/fat/alltheunhealthystuff-based cupcake. Which doesn’t mean it isn’t good. Just that your tastebuds might turn rebellious after a bite of the sinfully sweet cupcake.

Guilty physically, but I strongly believe sugar and chocolate is good for the soul :P

And thus, began our sinful affair with the cupcake monster…
(Don’t be blind. Use your imagination wtf)

Dee’s pink nails with pink glitter. Which naturally looks natural, posing there naturally for a pink camera thats naturally just so happens to click. And it ends up looking so naturally sweet. Naturally. Plus points for matching the pink cafe theme lol. Though I have to wonder how anyone gets anything done with nails like that…

Being the typical asian - with a pink camera - in such a pink environment, how can we girls not camwhore? Shots after shots as the waitress looks on with mild amusement. It’s a good thing we all look the same to them :P

Apologies for the horrible picture of me. Unfortunately, our camwhore skills for the day was fail. Badly edited, but way better than the original. Mmm, time to train back that steady arm and finger - its essential survival skills in this self-obsessing era after all.

Before leaving, I can’t help but think, “… pink pink PINK!!

I wonder how many times have I’ve said the word ‘pink’ in this post alone …?

.

ps. I feel slightly diabetic now. Should I arrange an appointment with the doctor? =\

pps. Met the terung today. Smiling at me looking totally guilt free. No doubt her conscience is lost in the search for a life partner. skippity skippity hop~

Hola! (oh wait, thats Spanish..)

hail from Adelaide!

For those of you who has yet to realise (and is STILL messaging me on my msian roaming number - which is very expensive thank you very much), I’m already in Adelaide since Tuesday. DOn’t call that number. And don’t sulk if I don’t reply - I’ve already shut down my other phone. So if you want my local contact number, get it from me online or something.

No updates with pictures till I get my internet line though. Even blogging from the uni computer seems weird to me at the moment (maybe thats why I took my time updating) =\

For those who caught me complaining 3 days ago, no worries, I got my electricity (finally!). For the next session of rants, please wait till the bill arrives. Thank you for you patience. :D

Orientation is going through right now. Quite a number to minor complications which unfortunately adds up to one major headache. Ugh. Can’t be helped though. So yeah, I’ve already played the part of the jakun tourist and visited almost the whole city. I wished it was bigger :( (this is where I feel homesick - I want 1U, MidValley, Pyramid!!! )

Okay, thats it for now. There’s this dude who’s been walking to and fro behind me for 10 minutes now. I think he’s stalking me… no wait, he’s stalking the printer - my bad. Anyways, i shall leave him for his happy hour with the printer and go home for a short nap before I have to hunt for dinner.

Do keep in touch. Cheers.
